 Rating:  - Love ItBought this after much consultation as all my stuff is on DVD+R & DVD+RW and I'd read one review saying the machine wouldn't play these. Amazon insisted that it would, so went ahead and...THEY WERE RIGHT !! Must admit thought that these discs are not shown in Toshiba's 'usable discs' list in the instructions, on the box or their website but tried it out and it's fine. As long as the DVD+R has been finalised it will play OK (as with all players) and the DVD+RW will play straight from my Panasonic ... Read More Rating:  - Initial DisappointmentBought this to take on upcoming holidays for my 2 year old. One of the main reasons I bought this was the technical spec on Amazon stated that it played +R and +RW dvds. I had spent a long time transferring childrens programmes recorded on Sky+ to +R dvds. However, when the player arrived yesterday the manual says it only supports dvd-R and dvd-RW. I tried my discs but they wouldnt load. I now have to go out and buy the correct discs and quickly record some programmes for him. Read More Rating:  - Good buyI bought this to replace a portable DVD player we'd had for about 5 years. I'm impressed by it's looks, quality and performance. It is slim and sleek looking, the picture quality and sound seem excellent and the swivel screen is a great improvement on our previous model. Overall I'm really pleased with this purchase. I'd always recommend a larger screen, especially for younger children. Rating: - Great picture, shame about the noisy driveExcellent solidly built unit as you'd expect from a well respected brand such as Toshiba. Great picture quality and the double headphone socket is a bonus when two people want to watch the same DVD. The only downside is the DVD drive itself is very noisy i.e. you can hear it whirring loudly even when wearing earphones. Never having owned a personal DVD player before I'm not sure if this is usual? Noise-cancelling headphones help though. Rating:  - good and bad pointsI bought this as a replacement for a previous Toshiba that decided not to play anything anymore. Unusual for Toshiba as there goods are very reliable on the whole. The picture is really clear and the sound is great even from ear phones.(not supplied) I do think they have been stingy with this product.
