Deep ruby red in colour with ripe black cherry and blackberry flavours.
75cl Famous red wine, known to be very consistent over the past 50 years. Mediumbodied with lots of berry and fruit and hints of dark chocolate and spiced vanilla.
A favourite of Salvador Dali, bursting with red fruit and vibrant in colour, this is an elegant Cava Rosado. Pale cherry red. Clean and bright. Its generous stream of fine bubbles forms a crown. It has a fruity aroma with a slight ageing tone.
This wine is the flagship Douro red from Quinta do Noval. A strict selection from the best lots produced each year, its a lusciously big wine that will greatly benefit from aging (and aeration). It is predominantly made up Touriga Nacional (around 80%), supported by Touriga Franca and Tinto Co. Theres fine balance and concentration to this full-bodied red, which offers crushed red fruit and mineral flavors amid plenty of pepper and spice. The intense finish features mocha and dark chocolate.
This Prosecco was made using the long charmat method. The grapes were hand-picked and the stalks removed before crushing. Soft pressing separated the skins and seeds from the must before alcoholic fermentation and second fermentation in a pressure and temperature controlled autoclave. After filtration and centrifugation, the wine was refrigerated and bottled under pressure. Light straw yellow with fine bubbles. A pleasant bouquet with notes of pear and floral hints is followed by a very bright, clean and lifted, palate. Very dry, with lingering freshness.
The wine has a brilliant straw yellow colour. Its fruity, spicy aromas are reminiscent of ripe apples, field flowers and fresh bread crust. Strong and elegant in structure, the wine has a well-balanced acidity and is framed by a sweet, round richness and great length.
Limited stock. Grapes are sourced exclusively from their own vineyards in Balbaina and Miraflores, and only the free run juice is used for Oloroso 1986. Matured in casks of American oak without blending in the sherry town of Sanlucar de Barrameda. No other years are added to the 1986 barrels. The maturation is an oxidative process; no flor grows since the wine is fortified after vinification. Then follows over twenty years of ageing in cask, to give a dry, complex wine. Aroma: Intensely rich pervading walnut. Taste: Dry, intense, rich and deep with a long and powerful flavour. Acidity lifts and gives freshness. Serve at room temperature as an aperitif or dry after dinner drink.
With its lusciously smooth and caramel sweet body, Pellegrino Superiore Garibaldi Dolce Marsala is a match made in heaven with chocolate desserts.
Harveys Bristol Cream features flavours of roasted nuts and raisins, with a subtly spicy finish. Harveys Bristol Cream is usually served well chilled as an aperitif, as an after-dinner drank straight, or on the rocks with a wedge of lime or slice of orange. The ice lessens the viscosity and the citrus lowers the sweetness to create a refreshing drink. As a dessert wine, serve with cheesecake, flan, bread pudding or creme brulee.
The Paddler is consultant winemaker Matt Thomson's own label. The name refers to Matt himself, as he still competes for New Zealand at the kayak world championships - when they don't interfere with his vintage work. This wine is a low alcohol, fruit focused style brimming with aromas of old-fashioned lemonade and flint alongside subtle honeysuckle floral notes. Bright acidity balances with the touch of residual sugar on the palate, whilst the luscious citrus flavours are complemented by an attractive chalky texture.
Aromas and flavours of black cherries and raspberries, perfect in its simplicity.
A fruity, full bodied Shiraz, packed with forest-fruit flavours and a hint of bitter chocolate and black pepper.
Brilliant rose in colour. Cherry and strawberry on the nose. Full and harmonious on the palate.
