After three years of trial and error, John Forrest mastered the art of achieving physiological ripeness early in his Sauvignon Blanc grapes. He was inspired by the ever-increasing concern that people had for Marlborough Sauvignons with high levels of alcohol and was interested by the point that people want to have a glass of wine with lunch but still need to do an honest day's work. His love of innovation and experimentation were tested in his attempts to produce this lower alcohol Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc from a careful selection of Sauvignon Blanc clones, vineyard sites and microclimates. We were so impressed with the results that we have worked with John to bring you this innovative wine, full of the distinctive flavours of Marlborough Sauvignon but with a pleasingling modest alcohol content.

The Adnams Selection Riesling, Marlborough, 9% Abv

Inspired by the great wines of the Mosel in Germany, John Forrest set about making a Kiwi version from his extensive vineyards in New Zealand's Marlborough region. The resulting wine which is naturally low in alcohol, was a perfect choice for the Adnams Selection range where we were hunting for wines that deliver all the flavour of the grape but with less of the usual attendant level of alcohol. On the palate: aromas of citrus, apricots and spice. Lovely fruit sweetness balanced by fine acidity. Being naturally lower in alcohol ensures each mouthful is a refreshingly delicious experience. The perfect lunchtime wine.
