This refreshing white blend has an expressive nose dominated by tropical and passion fruit with multiple layers of complex flavours on the palate as a result of the diverse blend components. This wine is named after a lady rumoured to have been a particularly close friend of Simon van der Stel, the first Governor of the Cape. Vineyards had perfect canopies - allowing optimum light penetration for the ripening of bunches and development of good colour. 61% Sauvignon Blanc, 28% Chardonnay, 4% Semillon, 4% Viognier, 2% Roussanne, 1% Grenache Blanc. Overall 2011 was a harvest that brought a smile to a weary Viticulturists face! Although we had a dry winter, there was plenty of water when required in the hot summer months to get the vineyards to mature naturally without undue stress. Meursault is the capital of fine white wines in Burgundy. This premier cru is situated in the hamlet of Blagny just next to La Piece Sous le Bois. A brilliant light yellow colour. The very pleasant expressive and complex nose opens up with floral and slightly woody notes. The attack is bold and frank, then this wine is full and harmonious on the palate. It has a certain vivaciousness, which gives it good length on the palate and very long-lasting aromas.

With Syrah to the fore, this is full of berry fruit, violet, liquorice, and spices. It has a generous, rounded palate and a long, elegant finish. The fruit for Saint-Esprit comes from a small valley in the northern Ardeche, to the west of the river Rhone. The vineyards are south-facing granite, and hence particularly well suited to Syrah, as well as naturally low-yielding. The grapes were destemmed and then fermented for fifteen days in closed vats, with daily pumping over; temperature was limited to 28-30°C. Malolactic took place in stainless steel, and then thirty percent of the wine was racked to oak barrels while the rest remained in tank.
