From Gascony, in south west France, comes this fresh dry white from the relatively new estate of Jean-Pierre Drieux who only began farming 60 hectares of vines 20 years ago. He is more than keen on working in a sustainable way ; " The utilisation of organic fertilizers and plant extracts, and the use of geo-biology for the harmonisation of the energy of each plot, have enabled me to stimulate the natural defenses of the vines and to boost microbial activity in the soil. I have been able to greatly reduce the amount of conventional chemicals employed and thus preserve the biodiversity of my land and enhance its expression." We approve of his efforts but also very much approve of the remarkable freshness allied to layers of flavour that he crams into his wines.
