Steeped in over a thousand years of history, Benedictine monks first started worshipping at this site in the middle of the tenth century and the current building has been there for over 700 years. Please Note: Customers simply proceed to the North Door to exchange their voucher and collect their wrist-band and free audio guide. Customers then begin the self-guided tour. A security search exists on entry for all visitors. As such, queues to enter the Abbey may be longer during peak season, especially in the months of July and August.
