This B+W 77mm MRC UV/IR (486M) Interference Filter has a completely colourless glass carrier coated with a number of extremely thin, partially reflecting layers with precisely computed thicknesses, similar to MC coating. The B+W Filter 486 does not block by means of absorption, but by interference of the unwanted UV and IR radiation that is repeatedly reflected between these layers, affecting the wavelengths on both sides of the visible spectrum with a steep cut-off. It is used mainly on digital and video cameras with CCD sensors without an integrated IR protection filter, because the IR sensitivity of the CCD sensor would otherwise cause colour changes and unsharpness. That unsharpness results from the chromatic aberration of the lenses that are only corrected for visible light. In the visible range, the transmission curve is very high and straight. This filter is completely clear and it requires no increase in exposure. Its filter factor is 1.
"So, if you're wondering where everyone in the UK goes to splash their cash, it's a pretty varied list, but some names just dominate the high street and, increasingly, our screens. When it comes to the everyday essentials and filling the fridge, the big supermarket players like Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, and Morrisons pretty much have the market cornered; you can't walk five minutes without bumping into one, and let's be honest, their clothing and home sections are getting surprisingly good too! Then you've got the high street stalwarts like John Lewis, which is basically ingrained in the British psyche for anything from furniture to fancy kettles, famous for their quality and service. Next is another huge one, not just for fashion but for their incredibly popular homeware range, while Argos remains a massive go-to for pretty much anything you can imagine, from electronics to toys, with their quick click-and-collect proving super handy. Boots isn't just for your paracetamol anymore either; they're a major player for beauty, toiletries, and even a decent lunchtime sandwich. For all your DIY and home improvement needs, B&Q and Dunelm are absolute giants, whether you're after a new drill or just some snazzy cushions. And, of course, in this day and age, Amazon UK is basically the stockist for absolutely everything under the sun, often delivering before you've even properly finished your cuppa. So yeah, the UK's B+W 77mm MRC UV/IR (486M) Filter shopping scene is a real mix of trusty old favourites and powerful new online giants. " - Bargainplace UK
