This Brother Rabbit Tapestry Cushion cover is a fine Jacquard woven tapestry cushion cover backed with a high quality velvet and fitted with a concealed zip. Created by Master Flemish tapestry weavers giving a superb detail to the weave. The original fabric was designed as a tribute to the Uncle Remus books first published in 1881 and a favourite of the Morris family. Originally woven at Merton Abbey Surrey it was adapted by Morris from a 17th century Italian silk. Despite Morris' ambitions to be a painter and his latter reputation as a writer poet and publisher it is as a designer that he is most widely remembered.
