The Cannondale Slate 105 Gravel Bike 2017 appeals to just about any rider, the revolutionary design is a fully accomplished road bike with fantastic off-road capabilities, bringing hard-cornering, curb-hopping, trail shredding fun to the traditionally more up-tight road riding discipline! Bigger tyres on smaller wheels was key to the whole design process of the Cannondale Slate, it allows for unreal cornering grip and float without compromising on proper road bike speed and responsiveness. Shorter chainstays, a slack head angle and a long front centre helps create a snappier feel whilst maintaining the stability needed for rough road excursions. The obvious elephant in the room for the Cannondale road bike is its suspension fork, typically a suspension fork would have drastic drawbacks for on-road use, but the Lefty Oliver has been specifically design for use with the Cannondale Slate 2016 to avoid these issues. 30mm of travel in a highly stiff design creates a road-like feel, whilst still being up for a good bit of fun off-road. Cannondale Slate 105 Gravel Bike 2017 Features The slate riding position balances racy efficiency with upright control and comfort. Lefty Oliver is an all new fork designed specifically for the needs of the slate. Save Plus offers incredible vertical compliance to create a smoother, more compliant ride over rougher roads. Smartformed alloy delivers the strongest, lightest, best handling frame possible. Shimano 105 drivetrain offers reliable, prompt shifts even when under heavy load. Cannondale Slate - Any Road. Anywhere. The Cannondale Slate has been designed to cater to the needs of everyone, appealing to Roadies and MTB'ers alike, regardless of their skill level. A highly capable ride brings new thrills in a more open definition of a road bike, the Slate allows you to push to new limits without the fear of the bike failing underneath you. Cannondale Lefty Oliver Fork With 30mm of travel and unmatched lefty stiffness, the all new Lefty Oliver was created to build the most absurdly fun road bike ever made, the Slate. This new platform lets you ride the open road, however you define it. Travel: 30mm Leg Diameter: Outer - 42mm / Inner: 32mm Damper: Isolated damper mini with multi-surface air preload spring
