This beautiful Clematis was created by pioneering Clematis breeders, the Jackman family in 1913, the year before the horrors of WW1 began. Clematis 'Mrs Spencer Castle' has large frilly flowers which bloom twice a year. In early summer, semi double, pink-mauve flowers appear which are followed later in the year  by much simpler single blooms. This Edwardian variety looks lovely growing up garden arches, trellis on walls and fences, pergolas and in obelisk planters, that are made for climbing plants. Height: 250cm (98). Spread: 90cm (35). Pruning Group: 2

"The landscape of bargain supermarkets in the UK, exemplified by prominent players such as Aldi and Lidl, fundamentally redefines consumer expectations for affordability and value. These retailers distinguish themselves through highly efficient operational models, characterised by strategic sourcing and streamlined supply chains designed to minimise overheads. Their success hinges significantly on robust relationships with a diverse network of Clematis 'Mrs Spencer Castle' stockists and suppliers, who are crucial partners in maintaining competitive pricing. Rather than extensive product assortments, these supermarkets often prioritise a curated selection, with a considerable emphasis on private-label goods developed in close collaboration with manufacturers. This approach necessitates that suppliers meet stringent quality standards while adhering to aggressive cost targets and high-volume purchasing agreements, ultimately influencing broader market dynamics within the grocery sector by driving down Clematis 'Mrs Spencer Castle' prices and fostering a highly competitive environment for producers.
