The unique SafeSense Technology provides the ultimate in user safety by automatically stopping the shredder when hands come into contact with the paper entry no matter how small they are. The P-58Cs also features a thermal overload protector which stops the shredder temporarily when it senses it is getting too hot. Once activated the shredder will shut down and a red light will advise you that this safety protector has activated.
Built within the on/off switch is a sheet capacity gauge which is measured to the cutter tolerance. This helps prevent paper jams by ensuring the cutters are not overwhelmed. Should the cutters ever become overwhelmed the P-58Cs features an electronic reverse mode to help remove the excess paper. As well as being able to handle 9 sheets at a time the P-58Cs cuts each A4 sheet of paper into 320 pieces measuring just 3.9x50mm (DIN Level 3) virtually an impossible task to piece back together. At Fellowes we know that people shred twice as much as they think they do. This is why Fellowes have fitted the P-58Cs with a strong and robust motor that can shred non-stop for up to 3-5 minutes. This enables the P-58Cs to shred up to 547 sheets of A4 paper per cycle.
As well as shredding huge quantities of paper the teeth of the P-58Cs can also shred staples credit cards and paperclips with ease. The P-58Cs features a light and easy lift head ensuring that waste disposal is as easy as possible with no strain on the user.
