The success of Filofax over the past decade has led many to believe that they are a new concept. However quite the contrary in fact its origins date back right up until the First World War when an Englishman working in the USA came across an American organising system consisting largely of technical leaves for engineers and scientists.

In 1930 after a company was set up in London to market the idea of personal organisation systems by mail order to England the name “Filofax” was born having derived from the description “file of facts”.

Filofax built up a strong clientele particularly amongst the clergy and military indeed at one point a “Filofax” was a compulsory purchase of the British Army staff college in Camberley.

The Filofax personal organiser was an indispensable status symbol for the 1980’s and continues to be a valuable and practical asset to people in all walks of life today.

"Honestly, who doesn't love a good rummage for a bargain at the UK supermarkets? It's practically a national pastime! We're all pros at sniffing out those yellow sticker reductions or making a beeline for the aisles of Aldi and Lidl, who've pretty much perfected the art of keeping our trolleys brimming without completely draining our bank accounts. It’s genuinely impressive how these discount giants, and even the larger players like Tesco and Sainsbury's with their own budget-friendly lines, manage to be such fantastic Filofax Pocket Domino Organiser Brown stockists for everything from your everyday essentials to those utterly random yet irresistible 'middle aisle' impulse buys. A huge part of their magic lies in their shrewd relationships with a massive network of suppliers, both huge corporations and smaller local outfits, who are constantly vying to get their products onto those coveted shelves. This fierce competition, combined with the supermarkets' colossal buying power, is ultimately what allows them to pass on those sweet, sweet savings directly to us, the happy shoppers. So next time you're gleefully bagging a mega deal, give a little nod to that intricate dance of sourcing and supply chains that makes it all possible! " - Bargainplace UK
