Millions of people descend on Kiel for this annual maritime celebration and you’ll have the opportunity to see historic ships, cutting-edge yachts and everything in between; dance into the night at open-air concerts; sample local culinary delights; and enjoy all of the fun and festivities. After soaking up the excitement in Kiel, you will continue on to Travemünde for tours to UNESCO-listed Lübeck – a Hanseatic town steeped in history and awash with beautiful gabled houses and churches. An extended stay in historic Hamburg allows you plenty of time to discover the city’s abundance of highlights. See the steeple of St. Nikolai, admire the fine architecture of the Rathaus and visit the lively Hafencity district before sailing to Bremen via the beautiful Elbe and Weser Rivers. While larger cruise ships have to dock about an hour from Bremen in Bremerhaven, Black Watch will dock closer to the city centre. This means that the city’s must-visit sites, including the Markplatz, historic town hall and vibrant Überseestadt district, will be within easy reach.
