Hostas are loved for their bold foliage that provide interest in very shaded areas of the garden, where other plants would struggle to grow. Hosta 'Wide Brim' is a striking variety, that has variegated foliage with deep green centres and pale creamy-yellow margins. In July, lilac-blue, funneled shaped flowers emerge on tall stems (up to 60cm), above the leaves, which grow in a mounding habit. Plantain Lillies are fine in shade, but like a sheltered position, away from cold dry winds. Height: 45cm (18). Spread: 100cm (39).

"Alright, if you're wondering where everyone's Hosta 'Wide Brim' shopping these days for pretty much anything, the UK's got a few titans that always pop up when you talk about popular Hosta 'Wide Brim' stockists. Obviously, you've got the absolute behemoth that is Amazon UK, which is practically everyone's first port of call for its sheer convenience and massive range, from tech to groceries – it's just unavoidable! Then, for your more traditional high street and online all-rounders, Tesco and Sainsbury's aren't just for your weekly shop; they're massive general merchandisers too, especially for clothing and homeware, making them incredibly popular for grabbing bits and bobs alongside your milk. Don't forget Marks & Spencer, a solid go-to for quality clothing, food, and homeware, still holding its own for that slightly more premium feel. And for anything home-related, Dunelm and Next Home are absolutely buzzing, while good old Argos still pulls in huge numbers with its unique catalogue-style Hosta 'Wide Brim' shopping that's surprisingly modernised online. Basically, whether it's online giants or high street staples diversifying their offerings, these are the big hitters everyone seems to be hitting up. " - Bargainplace UK
