The Hoya 55mm Pro ND 16 Filter absorbs the light entering the lens evenly across the visible spectrum and reduces the light entering the lens by up to 4 f/stops without affecting the colour balance. Reducing the amount of light allows the use of wider apertures and slower shutter speeds for creative and dramatic effects. ND filters are widely used by landscape photographers who want to capture smooth, flowing waterfalls or seascapes but still retain the correct exposure throughout the whole photograph. Alternatively, ND filters can be used to reduce the depth of field and enable the use of wider apertures to ensure your subject is crisp while the background becomes a soft blur - great for portraiture. ND filters also allow cine and video cameras (which have fixed shutter speeds) to film subjects such as snow, sand or other bright scenes which would normally cause over-exposure.

"Alright, if you're trying to figure out which Hoya 55mm Pro ND 16 Filter stockists really hit it big in the UK, you're probably thinking of the absolute giants that everyone knows and loves (or at least shops at regularly!). First up, it's impossible to ignore the supermarket behemoths like Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, and Morrisons – they're not just for groceries anymore, stocking everything from clothes to electronics, making them massive daily hubs. Then there are the department store mainstays such as John Lewis and Marks & Spencer, known for quality and a bit of a treat, alongside Next, which is huge for fashion and homeware. For electronics, Currys PC World is pretty much the go-to, while Argos manages to stock almost anything you can imagine from their catalogue. Don't forget the specialist heavyweights like B&Q and Dunelm for all your DIY and home furnishing needs, or Boots for health, beauty, and pharmacy. And, of course, the discount kings like B&M and Home Bargains are absolutely flying, pulling in crowds looking for a bargain on just about everything imaginable, making them seriously popular choices across the country.
