The Hoya 58mm Pro ND 200 Filter absorbs the light entering the lens evenly across the visible spectrum and reduces the amount of light entering the lens by up to 7 2/3 f/stops without affecting the colour balance. Reducing the amount of light allows the use of wider apertures and slower shutter speeds for creative and dramatic effects. ND filters are widely used by landscape photographers who want to capture smooth, flowing waterfalls or seascapes but still retain the correct exposure throughout the whole photograph. Alternatively, ND filters can be used to reduce the depth of field and enable the use of wider apertures to ensure your subject is crisp while the background becomes a soft blur - great for portraiture. ND filters also allow cine and video cameras (which have fixed shutter speeds) to film subjects such as snow, sand or other bright scenes which would normally cause over-exposure.

"Right, let's be honest, if you're not hopping on the bargain supermarket bandwagon in the UK, you're probably leaving a fair bit of cash on the table! We're talking about the absolute legends like Aldi and Lidl, who have completely changed the game, proving that you don't need fancy aisles and a hundred different brands of tinned tomatoes to get seriously good grub. Their magic really comes down to their supply chain wizardry; they're masters of direct sourcing, often dealing straight with the manufacturers and farmers, which cuts out so many middlemen and keeps costs insanely low. Many of their 'own-brand' items are actually produced by the very same big-name suppliers that churn out the pricier stuff for the traditional giants like Tesco and Sainsbury's – it’s just packaged differently and without the hefty marketing spend. Even the bigger Hoya 58mm Pro ND 200 Filter stockists and suppliers are adapting, offering more 'white label' goods or creating bespoke, cheaper lines specifically for these discount retailers, or even for the value ranges popping up in the mainstream supermarkets aiming to compete. So whether it’s a farmer supplying potatoes directly to an Aldi warehouse or a clever factory churning out 'comparable' biscuits for Lidl, the entire network is geared towards getting us more bang for our buck, which is frankly brilliant news for our wallets!
