Taking the time-honoured shape of an orchid and stamped with the Chinese symbol for prosperity, we've selected a fragrant jasmine green tea for a true taste of tradition.Jasmine tea is a speciality of China's Fujian Province, crafted from the youngest two leaves and a bud from each tea bush. After being skilfully fired to prevent oxidation, the leaves are then kept in cold storage until the first jasmine blossoms begin to bloom in July. Delicately picked buds of unopened jasmine are layered over the leaves, gradually opening at dusk to release their essential oils. The tea is constantly turned overnight, allowing the natural fragrance to infuse into the leaves; the painstaking process is then repeated up to 6 times with a fresh batch of flowers, making this a true artisan tea.The JasmineOrchid Tea Cake is supplied as one 50g unit (8cm diameter).Roughly 2g to be used per serving.
