Julia (DVD) Stockists

Fred Zinnemann's last great movie. Based on part of Lillian Hellman's memoir, the film stars Jane Fonda as Hellman as she recounts her friendship with the enigmatic JULIA, played by Vanessa Redgrave. Fonda gives a gutsy performance, playing well with Redgrave and, to a greater degree, Jason Robards, who plays Dashell Hammett. Alvin Sargent's screenplay cleverly bends time, jumping back and forth as the story of Hellman's friendship with Julia is told and Zinnemann creates a melancholy feel that's sustained throughout. The excellent music by Georges Delerue is haunting and the cinematography by Douglas Slocombe is beautiful. The supporting cast features Meryl Streep as Anne Marie, Maximillian Schell as Johann, Cathleen Nesbitt as Julia's grandmother, Rosemary Murphy as Dorothy Parker and Hal Holbrook as Parker's husband Alan Campbell. Running Time: 117 minutes Region: Region 2 Release Date: 13 Oct. 2014

"Alright, if you're looking to get your stuff out there or just curious about where everyone's Julia (DVD) shopping these days, the UK's stockist scene is pretty dominated by some massive names, and it's all about convenience and range, really. We're talking the big supermarket chains like Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, and Morrisons – they're everywhere, sell everything from groceries to clothes, and people are in them constantly. Then there are the department store heavyweights like John Lewis and M&S, known for quality and a more curated selection, plus their online presence is huge. Don't forget the online beasts like Amazon UK, which honestly sells practically everything under the sun and has become a go-to for so many. For health and beauty, Boots and Superdrug are absolute staples on every high street, and when it comes to fashion and homeware, Next is a massive player with its catalogue and in-store offerings. Basically, anyone with a strong high street presence, a massive online platform, or who can cater to the weekly shop is right at the top of the popularity charts! " - Bargainplace UK
