When The Beatles split up in 1970, John Lennon found himself carrying the weight of public adoration and expectation, as the break-up of the world's most influential band left a hole at the centre of popular culture that he was expected to fill. Leaving his native Britain in 1971, he travelled “ as so many had before him “ to the city of New York for the chance of a new life. As with so many immigrants to the Big Apple, Lennon sought freedom: freedom to be himself, to leave the Beatles behind and to live his life as a husband, father and artist. This feature-length documentary, produced with complete support from Yoko Ono, tells the definitive story of Lennon's solo career and the artistic choices he made in his new adopted city. Featuring access to never-before-seen material from the Lennon archives, rare recordings of some of his greatest solo hits and interviews with the likes of Yoko Ono, Elton John and Ringo Starr, this is the ultimate portrait of John Lennon in his post-Beatle years. ¢ This intimate, feature-length film includes interviews and footage of Lennon that has never before been publicly seen. ¢ Contains newly recorded interviews with Yoko Ono, Elton John, David Geffen and many others. ¢ Features rare recordings of classic solo material including Mind Games, Whatever Gets You Thru The Night and the timeless classic Imagine. "Right, if you're talking about the big hitters, the places everyone and their nan seems to shop at and where brands really want to be seen, then in the UK you've gotta mention the supermarket giants first and foremost. We're talking Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, and Morrisons – they're just everywhere, offer insane footfall, and stock everything from groceries to clothes to electronics, making them absolute goldmines for reach. Then there's the beloved John Lewis, synonymous with quality and a more curated Lennon NYC [DVD] shopping experience, or Marks & Spencer, a British institution for food and clothing. Don't forget the high street stalwarts like Boots for health and beauty or WHSmith for books and stationery, depending on what you're selling. And, of course, in this day and age, Amazon UK is arguably the most popular stockist for pretty much anything, given its sheer convenience and massive customer base. Basically, the most popular ones are those with huge existing customer bases, whether that's through physical stores in every town or dominating the online marketplace! " - Bargainplace UK
