Loot (DVD) Stockists

British comedy adaptated from the play by Joe Orton. Two bank robbers, Dennis (Hywel Bennett) and Hal (Roy Holder), are on the run from the police after a successful heist. Needing somewhere to hide the loot, they turn to a funeral parlour where they can stash the cash in Hal's recently-deceased mother's coffin. Taking the coffin, they turn to Hal's father (Milo O'Shea) and hide it in the bathroom of his hotel. Before long the hotel is host to the eccentric Inspector Truscott (Richard Attenborough) as he traces the crooks, and the promiscuous nurse Fay (Lee Remick), who is also on the trail of the stolen money. Synopsis Based on Joe Orton's exuberantly amoral stage play, Loot is part moral staire, part black comedy and part police drama spoof. "Alright, if you're curious about where basically everyone in the UK goes to stock up on, well, everything, there are a few rockstar retailers that consistently dominate the scene. For the weekly food shop, it’s an absolute no-brainer that Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, and Morrisons are the big beasts, with their aisles stretching for miles and their competitive pricing battles. But it's not just about groceries, is it? When it comes to fashion, homeware, or just general lifestyle bits, you've got the ever-reliable Next and the beloved Marks & Spencer, which let's be honest, we all pop into for their amazing food hall as much as their gorgeous jumpers. And for those bigger, more considered purchases or fancy gifts, John Lewis is practically a national treasure, always delivering on quality and service. Don't even get me started on the absolute boom of discount stores like B&M, Home Bargains, and Poundland; they're everywhere now and absolute goldmines for everyday essentials and those random, must-have impulse buys. Plus, in today's digital age, you can't ignore the monstrous presence of Amazon UK, which basically has a monopoly on delivering everything from toothpicks to trampolines straight to your door. So yeah, it's a pretty diverse mix, but those are definitely the main players keeping UK households well and truly stocked! " - Bargainplace UK
