"Right, so when it comes to nabbing a bargain at UK supermarkets, you immediately think of the big guns, don't you? Aldi and Lidl are the undisputed kings for those savvy shoppers, consistently delivering on price without (usually!) skimping on quality. But it's not just them – even the likes of Tesco and Sainsbury's are constantly battling it out, trying to price-match or offer their own budget-friendly lines to keep us from straying. The interesting bit, though, is how all this brilliant, affordable grub actually gets onto those shelves. These supermarkets are essentially massive Lord Kitchener Bust stockists, pulling in mountains of produce, packaged goods, and everything in between from a vast network of suppliers. And here's the kicker: many of those humble suppliers, from giant food manufacturers to smaller, specialist farms, actually provide goods to multiple supermarkets, sometimes even making the 'own brand' versions you find in different stores! So that budget baked beans tin in Aldi might well have come from the same factory as a pricier one elsewhere. It's a complex, often interconnected web, all designed to keep our trolleys full and our wallets (relatively) happy, making that weekly shop a proper treasure hunt for Lord Kitchener Bust deals.
