Poc Octal Raceday Road Helmet Stockists

Admittedly the bold looks of the award winning POC Octal Raceday helmet are divisive but you cannot argue with its levels of safety comfort cooling and weight.POC are a Swedish company and without being overly stereotypical the Swedes are renowned for their ability to make safety equipment that sets new standards. Just look at the seat belt… thanks to this Swedish invention a life is saved every 6 seconds. POC have taken this heritage for ingenuity and invention to design new innovative protective equipment for the most demanding bikes riders.POC’s clever use of EPS foam density has led to them being able to produce a helmet that is crazy-light (as little as 185g for a size small!) yet still exceeds the safety standards required. Further to this they have built in additional protection over the temples and around the back of the head. Plus they have thicker sections in the EPS liner in the most exposed areas. So rest assured POC really haven’t compromised safety at all in pursuit of achieving this weight. The EPS liner is fully wrapped with the unibody shell which enhances the safety properties of the helmet and helps keep the weight low.Cooling is exceptionally good too owing to POC’s approach to ventilation – rather than having lots of vents POC’s approach is to have few but larger vents to allow more air to flow through the helmet uninhibited. This has the added bonus of improving the aerodynamics along with the effective cooling. The lightweight size adjustment system allows for a great range of adjustment to suit most head shapes with comfort. The helmets straps are molded into the helmet liner for a cleaner look and more secure attachment. The fit is complimented with the use of Coolbest pads which are used to help reduce the temperature in the interface between the helmet and the rider’s head. Most importantly of all the Octal helmet has an ‘eye garage’ this is a fancy way of saying that there’s a place on the helmet design to stick your sunglasses into to keep them safe when not on your face… plus it gives you that sought after pro look.Technical Features: High performance EPS liner optimised in density. Fully wrapped unibody shell construction. Generously ventilated using POC's unique ventilation design. Size adjustment system. Straps moulded into liner. Temperature regulating Coolbest padding. Eye garage to keep your sunglasses securely in position when placed on the helmet. Small: 50-56cm / 190g Medium: 54-60cm / 195g Large: 56-62cm / 205g Certification: EN1078
