For your everyday groceries and household essentials, the undisputed champions are definitely Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, and Morrisons – you'll find one of these practically on every corner, offering everything from fresh produce to pet food. Then there's the health and beauty side, totally dominated by Boots and Superdrug, where you can stock up on everything from prescriptions to makeup palettes. If you're looking for something a bit more substantial for the home, like electronics or appliances, Currys PC World and Argos are usually the go-to spots, while for fashion and homeware that’s a bit more stylish, you can’t really go wrong with the likes of John Lewis & Partners or Marks & Spencer. And let's not forget the budget-friendly giants like Primark for fashion steals or B&M and Home Bargains for all those random bits and bobs you never knew you needed!
