Excellent colour concentration with a touch of maturity on the rim. On the nose, the 1997 Vintage is spicy, with layers of rich, black fruit, a hint of cocoa and tobacco. On the palate, the fruit is concentrated and powerful, with elegant, ripe tannins and great structure without being cooked. Lower levels of brandy were used in this ripe vintage, resulting in a beautifully balanced Port. Long, spiced finish.
