Ribble - CX5 Stockists

The CX5 is perfect for riding on any surface, including road commuting, but it really comes into its own on rides incorporating road, off-road tracks, trails, bridleways or lanes. Its a road and cross country adventure bike that will take you wherever you want to ride. The more relaxed geometry of this cyclocross bike, which makes it capable of absorbing off-road terrain, also makes it a comfort orientated, all-round bike suitable for general riding or perhaps towpath commuting. Its a lightweight, versatile bike to add variety to your riding. Disc brakes have taken over in cyclocross and weve designed this frame with the very latest flat mount standard. Discs give reliable and predictable braking whatever the conditions allowing safe and sure stopping - or perhaps late braking to get into that corner first! Riding over all surfaces, in all conditions is where disc brakes really come into their own to provide reliable and consistent braking. The CX5 has 12mm thru axles which help produce a stiffer feel and that added stiffness from a thru axle set-up allows you to feel more in control when using lower pressures in your tyres. Being British designed, the CX5 has got generous mud clearance and will take tyres up to 35mm wide. This is a bike capable of handling the harsh, winter conditions in the cyclocross heartland of northern Europe as well as longer, off-road sportives. Head of Ribble bike design James Dove says, The cross and adventure riding scene has really expanded in recent years, but some brands dont always get the geometry right. Weve designed a fairly traditional main triangle with a flattened top tube. This bike is easy to carry and weve also ensured theres plenty of tyre clearance. The optimised geometry of the CX5 is racy enough to be competitive, but also offers enough comfort for those days when you ride further over any surface. For cyclocross racing, everything on the CX5 is optimised to help you get through the mud of deep winter from the lightweight, carbon frame and internal cable routing to the horizontal top tube that gives plenty of space for you to get that shoulder in and carry. The CX5 is perfect for all your multi-terrain or adventure riding so let it carry you off to explore the roads and tracks less travelled. NB. This frame has mounts for full coverage mudguards to be fitted. View our range of mudguards.
