Ross Kemp - The Afghanistan Collection (DVD) Stockists

Ross Kemp is recognised as one of the best war reporters to have covered the conflict in Afghanistan. Since 2007 he's made powerful, award-winning films about the harsh conditions on Britain's frontline. His unforgettable programmes, often made at huge risk to his own life, have brought home the sacrifices made by the men and women serving in Britain's Armed Forces today. For the first time this box-set brings together all three series, providing an eye-opening account of the toughest years spent fighting the Taliban in Helmand Province, now recognised as some of the hardest battles fought since the end of the second world war. Ross Kemp in Afghanistan In the summer of 2007 Ross joins his father's old regiment, 1 Royal Anglian and, for the first time, heads to Afghanistan. Ross is immediately embedded with frontline troops where for weeks at a time he lives a soldier's life as they fight a fanatical and determined enemy. Off the battlefield he tells the stories of those who risk their lives fighting the Taliban. Return to Afghanistan Ross returns to Afghanistan in the summer of 2008, to the recently captured town of Musa Qaleh. This small yet significant town is the centre of some of the fiercest fighting in the conflict. The worst battles take place in the densely vegetated and claustrophobic terrain of the green zone. He joins 5 Scots and 1 Royal Irish on four operations as they defend the town from Taliban attack. Back on the Frontline Ten years on from 9/11 and the American invasion, Ross Kemp travels back to Afghanistan to get to the root of the many problems facing troops today. To get a better understanding of the current situation he spends time with British forces, in this case The Royal Marines, whilst also going on patrol with the United States Marine Corps and the Afghan National Army.A donation will be made to the Army Benevolent Fund (registered charity number 211645) and the Royal Navy Benevolent Trust (registered charity number 206243) for every DVD purchased.
