The Santa Cruz Nomad gets a complete redesign for the new season, bringing in a lower link-mounted shock (akin to the V10 linkage system) alongside a whole new geometry. This new suspension configuration creates a shock rate that’s both supportive & progressive, perfect for rough terrain. It also plays well with coil shocks, adding to the depth and dimension of the Nomad’s ride characteristics and range of tunability. Tweaks to the geometry ensure that the Nomad 4.0 stays on the fine-line between flat-out DH & a bike that’s still a load of fun out on the trails. The flip-chip on the lower link provides two riding settings, the higher setting delivering added versatility, while the lower setting slackening things further out to near DH levels. A pedal-friendly 74.5-degree seat tube angle alongside it’s longer & lower-slung base lead to a ride that maximises stability & confidence on just about everything. In the process of redefining the Nomad, Santa Cruz have spent a fair bit of time on the bike’s details. Bolt-on downtube protectors and shuttle guards ward off any wayward rocks and the sandpaper effect of tailgate transport.
