Scotland Yard - Complete Series (DVD) Stockists

Scotland Yard was perhaps the best-known series to emerge from Anglo-Amalgamated's output of crime drama. Shot as cinema support features at the company's Merton Park Studios in South Wimbledon, these half-hour thrillers - based on real-life cases from the vaults of London's Metropolitan Police headquarters - were a successful regular feature in cinemas over nearly a decade from the early 1950s onwards. Like sister series Scales of Justice (also available from Network), Scotland Yard is introduced by celebrated crime/suspense maven Edgar Lustgarten, and presents case after intriguing case, with many solved onscreen by the redoubtable Inspector Duggan (played by Australian-born Russell Napier). This set comprises all 39 films, also featuring appearances by Harry H. Corbett, Peter Bowles, John Le Mesurier, Peter Arne and Robert Raglan, among many others. Running Time: 1170 minutes Region: Region 2 Release Date: 14 Jan. 2013

"Alright, if you're wondering where everyone in the UK goes for pretty much everything, you're looking at a huge mix of household names that are basically part of the furniture! For those wanting quality and a bit of a treat, you can't really go wrong with the likes of John Lewis – their customer service is legendary, and they stock everything from homeware to fashion. Marks & Spencer, or M&S as we all know it, is another absolute staple, especially for food and their reliable clothing lines. Then there's Next, always popular for its stylish yet affordable fashion and homeware, and don't forget the more budget-friendly Primark, which is constantly bustling! You've also got the big supermarkets like Tesco, Sainsbury's, and Asda, which have become surprisingly massive players in the clothing and home goods market too, offering convenience alongside your weekly shop. For a more fashion-focused spree, Zara, H&M, New Look, and River Island are still massive draws on the high street, pulling in the crowds for the latest trends. And let's not forget the online giants that have truly conquered the market, like Amazon UK, ASOS for all your fashion needs, and Boohoo, making it super easy to get whatever you need delivered right to your door. It’s a pretty diverse scene, with something for every budget and style! " - Bargainplace UK
