The Hide lies 2 miles inland from the unspoiled village and beach at Slapton in South Devon. An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the setting is truly idyllic. One of a small group of privately owned lodges at Gara Mill, this lodge stands midway on the hillside, with a babbling stream beneath and surrounded by trees. Hillside has three bedrooms, one with en-suite shower room and can sleep up to six in total. The living area is open plan, tastefully furnished with timber floors and ceilings, reflecting the woodland position. Outside a south facing deck is the perfect spot to enjoy morning breakfasts, whilst picnic lunches or evenings barbecues can be enjoyed in the shared meadow at the top of the hill. There is plenty to occupy all ages and interests in the area. Days on the beach can be spent at Slapton or Blackpool Sands, both lifeguarded throughout the summer period. Visit the town of Kingsbridge and enjoy a walk along the estuary before stopping at one of the many cafes in the town for a cream tea. A day trip to Dartmouth will appeal to all and there are a number of golf courses in the area for those who bring their clubs. For family fun or sharing with friends The Hide is a super choice at any time of year.
