To celebrate both the 25th anniversary of their classic album Fisherman's Blues, and the 14th October 2013 release of EMI's 7 CD set Fisherman's Box, The Waterboys will tour Britain and Ireland in December with a special line-up reuniting Mike Scott and Steve Wickham with Fisherman's Blues band members Anto Thistlethwaite and Trevor Hutchinson for the first time since 1990. The four will be joined by current Waterboys drummer Ralph Salmins. The repertoire will be a re-exploration of the band's music of the Fisherman's Blues period. Instead we'll be using the band's vintage repertoire as a starting point for a new blast of the freewheeling, improvised spirit of The Waterboys in those days.
