"So, if you're wondering where everyone in the UK tends to splash their cash, you're probably looking at the usual suspects like the massive supermarket chains – think Tesco, Sainsbury's, and Asda, which are practically ingrained in our daily lives for everything from milk to new socks. But it's not just about groceries, is it? For pretty much anything else for your home, places like John Lewis or Next are always a safe bet if you're after something a bit nicer, while B&Q and Dunelm are go-to's for household bits and bobs or DIY projects. And let's not forget the sheer pulling power of the value retailers like B&M or Home Bargains, where you pop in for one thing and leave with a trolley full of random bargains you never knew you needed! Then there's Currys for all your electronic gadgets and gizmos, or Boots and Superdrug for health and beauty essentials. Of course, a massive chunk of our spending now happens online, with Amazon UK being the undisputed king, but when it comes to physical shops where you can actually browse and buy, those big high street and out-of-town names are still doing a roaring trade, really covering just about every base you can imagine for the average Brit's Vocas Separate Cheese Plate for Sony PXW-FS5 shopping needs.
