Wicked is a Tony award-winning American musical produced by Universal Pictures with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, and a book by Winnie Holzman. The story is loosely based on the best selling novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire. The musical is directed by Joe Mantello, with musical staging by Wayne Cilento. The musical, following Maguire s novel, is a re-imagining of L. Frank Baum s classic story, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz from the point of view of the witches of Oz, set mostly prior to Dorothy s arrival from Kansas. The plot also makes several references to the classic 1939 film. (wikipedia.org) Release Date: N/A
"Okay, so if you're wondering about the most popular Wicked - Various Artists (CD) stockists in the UK, it's a bit of a mixed bag depending on what you're after, but some names just consistently pop up. For a start, you've got the big department store legends like John Lewis, which everyone trusts for quality and that 'never knowingly undersold' vibe, and then there's Marks & Spencer, a total British institution for everything from food to fashion and homeware that just feels inherently reliable. Next is another massive player, especially for clothing and home stuff, often seen as a go-to for families. Then there are the health and beauty giants like Boots and Superdrug, practically on every high street, catering to all your pharmacy and cosmetic needs. And of course, you can't forget the supermarkets – Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, and Morrisons – they're not just for groceries anymore, they stock so much more, making them incredibly popular for sheer convenience. Online, Amazon obviously dominates, but these brick-and-mortar (and increasingly online) stalwarts continue to be the nation's favourites for their sheer range and accessibility. " - Bargainplace UK
