The Dunlop Winter Sport 5 is a winter tyre which is the fifth model in Dunlop's winter tyre series. It succeeds the Winter Sport 4D which had seen a considerable success in the market. The tyre features an increased number of tread blocks than its predecessors, The additional edges in the tread allows for a better contact with the road's surface, resulting in improved traction in snow. The sipes in the pattern are angled and longer which allows them to exercise an excellent grip even on slippery surfaces. The depth of the grooves in the tread pattern accounts for the tyre's capacity to remove the excess quantity of water and reduce the risk of aquaplaning. nnThe tyres also feature Dunlop's multiple blade system, which gives the tyre a consistent and efficient performance in varying winter condition/s.
